Therapy for teens in Santa Clarita: what parents can expect

Handing your teen over to a therapist can feel strange, especially when you want to help and aren't sure how. Here's what many parents want to know before they start.

Teens need a space that's theirs. In therapy they can talk openly, and good therapists work to build trust. At the same time, parents aren't left out. Your teen's therapist will explain how privacy works at the start, including the limited situations where a parent or others need to be told for safety.

Parent support matters too. Many families find it helps to have their own check-ins, so you can ask questions, share what you're seeing at home, and learn how to support your teen without taking over.

Families often reach out about stress, anxiety, low mood, school pressure, friendships and conflict at home. You don't need to have it all figured out to call.

We see teens in person at our Newhall office or by video. Kids, teens and young adults 25 and under may qualify for therapy at no cost to the family. To get started, text us at 661-383-2252.

If you ever feel unsafe or in crisis, call or text 988 or go to your nearest emergency room.
