Continuing Education (CEs) for Therapists
We are excited to share what our clinicians know with more therapists throughout California. Online continuing education trainings are coming soon, taught by our own practicing clinicians. Creative Connections is a CAMFT CEPA-approved continuing education provider (Provider #1032896). Email ce@cctherapy.co to be the first to hear when new trainings open.
How we teach: our Learning Loop™
Every hour of every training follows our Learning Loop™, a clear path from understanding an idea to using it with a real client: Understand, Connect, Experience, Adapt, Apply, and Transfer. Each hour also includes a Clinical Pearl to take with you. It is how we make sure a training changes what you do in your next session, not just what is in your notes.
Our first training: When Words Aren't Enough
On Friday, September 18, 2026, we presented our first training, a six-hour in-person continuing education day for mental health practitioners supporting students from TK through 12th grade in Kern County. 104 people attended. The training was filmed, and we are preparing it to share online here soon.
"When Words Aren't Enough: Art Therapy and Creative Interventions for TK-12 Mental Health" was presented by Alex Field, LMFT, our CEO and Clinical Visionary and a music therapist; Madison Bottorff, LCSW, our Director of Clinical Development; and Lexie Flores, LMFT, ATR, a registered art therapist and associate supervisor.
What participants learned to do
Select developmentally appropriate creative interventions across TK-12 age groups.
Apply trauma-informed strategies that support regulation, engagement, and connection.
Adapt interventions for anxiety, trauma, dysregulation, peer conflict, and school avoidance.
Develop intervention plans linked to treatment and educational goals.
Participants left with more than 30 ready-to-use creative interventions, strategies across four developmental stages, facilitation language and processing prompts, and documentation tools and planning templates.
Join us
We are building a workplace that offers licensed therapists more than a seat in a chair and a full schedule of sessions. Here, you can also share what you know with other clinicians, through teaching, training, and creating new courses in innovative ways. If that sounds like the kind of place you want to work, learn more and apply on our Licensed Therapist page.
