Get to Know Me
Ruth Head, AMFT (She/They) Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#158845)
I earned my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Trauma Studies from Pacific Oaks College and have been working with adolescents across various levels of care, supporting youth and their families through complex emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges.
My clinical training includes mindfulness-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Expressive Arts Therapy. I integrate these evidence-based approaches to provide individualized treatment that is both structured and responsive to each client’s unique needs.
I approach therapy from a collaborative, client-centered perspective, honoring each individual’s lived experience and inherent strengths. I believe meaningful change occurs within a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. Beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, and I strive to create an environment grounded in respect, empathy, and professionalism. My goal is to help clients build insight, develop practical coping skills, and move toward lasting growth and well-being.
